The green light was given on the 70th birthday of the NHS when the Department for Health and Social Care approved the £7.8 million of funding after concluding that Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust’s plans were sound and value for money.
Geo Houlton were appointed as the main contractor and we supported with the supply of all ironmongery and signage requirements. Products where supplied in line with all current legislation and requirements for how the building will be utilised. RB are delighted to once again work with Geo Houlton on this important project and the ones to come as we continue to develop our relationship going forwards.
The first phase of development involved demolishing a redundant part of the existing children’s centre, the remainder of which was refurbished, providing community and therapy services for children and young people.
The new inpatient unit is equipped and staffed to treat young people struggling with a wide range of mental health issues such as depression, severe anxiety, psychoses and eating disorders.
The new unit, has it’s own school, gym, sensory room, indoor and outdoor recreational space and specially designed area for families to visit.
