Lightbody Street, Liverpool

Eric Wright Construction is delivering an ambitious residential scheme comprising 185 apartments and 10 townhouses, complete with landscaped public spaces, resident parking, and the imaginative conversion of nearby railway arches for commercial use. Positioned beside Liverpool’s historic Stanley Dock, the development offers a diverse mix of one, two, and three-bedroom homes designed to meet the needs of a growing community. Work began in March 2022 and remains on track for completion in 2025.

The site has long attracted interest as part of the wider regeneration of Liverpool’s northern docklands, and this latest development marks a significant step forward. Led by Torus—the North West’s largest provider of affordable homes—the project also represents the Group’s innovative move into water-sourced renewable energy. A District Heating system will supply heating and hot water to every home, using water drawn from the adjacent Leeds–Liverpool Canal to sustainably generate heat for the entire Hartley Locks community.

To help deliver this forward-thinking and environmentally conscious vision, Eric Wright Construction and Torus have integrated a range of premium products supplied by RB Architectural Hardware. Among these are advanced access-control solutions engineered to enhance security while ensuring a smooth, user-friendly experience for everyone moving into the new homes at Hartley Locks.
